Our Personal Journey

It started with a vacation.
India. (One of the most beautiful countries in the WORLD in my opinion)
I was an avid traveler working in the medical device IT industry. It was my 39th country...I was there for the colors, the food, the history and the people… NOT for business. Not for hair care. Just to explore and one thing I did notice was the beautiful hair that Indian women had
Then came the tours. I went on herbal tours tucked away in the winding streets and markets. Vibrant powders. Bundles of roots. Spices so fragrant they lingered in the air like whispers from another time. I didn’t know it then, but those herbs were about to change everything.
I stuffed a bushels of them into my suitcase, thinking nothing of it. Then… the world stopped.
COVID. Lockdowns. Empty streets.
4 Months later on one quiet afternoon, I opened that suitcase. (4 months later because why would I rush to unpack summer clothes in the middle of winter? lol) The herbs were still there, waiting. I started experimenting just me, my hair, and the kitchen counter.

I swear, just a week later, my hair was thicker. Longer. Stronger. People noticed. My family wanted it. My friends wanted it. Soon, they demanded it....
I never planned to start a business.
They MADE me start it...because poor little ol me barely even knew anything about hair or hair products. I probably tried everyyy hair product and wore extensions my whole life and my hair never really grew past a certain length. Additionally, I had crown thinning that my sister advised was probably just hereditary. How were these herbs working so fast? HOW was my crown filling in so fast. Anyway. I simply called the business "Protein Pouf", buecasue hair is made of protein, and Poufs just symbolized big poufy hair.

I spent the next 4 years learned the science. Spent thousands of hours mastering emulsions and all sorts of formulations. And with every jar and bottle, Protein Pouf grew thousands of customers, thousands of success stories. Stories that made me cry tears of joy.
And thats how it all began… with handfuls of herbs in a suitcase, halfway across the world.
